Hotel Bravo Field Report

Mission and Intent for Our IACS Fundraiser

Have you ever wondered how our fundraisers turn out and where the funds go? Well, here’s a quick run-down of our latest project, the 2021 IACS Feline Alumni calendar.

In-line with Hotel Bravo’s primary directives, the main purpose of the Feline Alumni calendar is to spread awareness about our city’s shelter, as well as, shelter cats and community cats everywhere. I see the funds raised from its sale as a secondary mission objective. But, just like previous years, 100% of those funds are donated to the Community Cat Fund at Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation, 501(c)(3). Friends of IACS Foundation exists to benefit the animals of our city’s shelter, Indianapolis Animal Care Services.

I recently mailed our fundraiser ‘field report’ to the board, along with our donation and a sample of the calendar. I thought I’d share some information on how our fundraising activities concluded.

“The Friends Foundation was founded to help offset the costs of life-saving and comfort-creating items and events for the shelter and the animals that have to temporarily call it home.”

But first, I want to take a moment and humbly thank everyone who supported this project. We had a lot of supporters from previous years (you’re awesome!), and we also saw a lot of new faces. Thanks to all those who got a calendar, and thanks to all of those who shared our message. It truly warms my heart. And I’d also like to give a shout-out to our friends at Indy Cat Lovers, Indy Neighborhood Cats, Indy Shelter Pets for Adoption, and IACS. Thanks for what you do and thanks for helping us spread the word. Hotel Bravo salutes you!

The Brass Tacks and Our Donation to IACS

This is my third year designing and executing the IACS Feline Alumni calendar, and I’m always a bit nervous about the outcome. But this year we had our highest number of calendars sold yet. We were only a few over last year, but it’s still an improvement. Considering the financial state of the world in 2020, we’re super happy with the outcome. Plus, we had sales in six states this year. That’s pretty exciting.

This project generated $732.40 in profit, which we donated to the Community Cat Fund at Friends of IACS Foundation. This was a bit short of our goal, but that’s ok. I’m still quite pleased with how things turned out. And for those who got a calendar, I truly hope you enjoy it. I firmly believe that the true value of this project is its potential to bring joy to others and to show people a different side of our feline friends, the ubiquitous shelter cat and community cat. Plus, who doesn’t want a cat calendar hanging in their office, right?
