Food Assistance
Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside
FIDO operates a low-cost pet food pantry located in Indianapolis. Each month they open up their warehouse to provide dry dog and cat food to those in need for $2. They also offer food assistance to many community cat colonies. Here’s what they have to say:
“FIDO continues to operate a drive-thru pantry on the first Saturday of each month to provide over 12,000 pounds of dog and cat food to nearly 400 low-income households and 100 community cat caretakers. We also provide flea treatment and de-wormer for a nominal fee and cat shelters. Spay/neuter is required to receive pet food pantry assistance, and the pantry provides a convenient venue for scheduling this free service.”
FIDO also does so much more with a mission focused on helping Indianapolis’ chained and neglected dogs. They offer owners alternatives to continuous chaining through education and even assistance with fencing. Visit their website for more information.
